Strengthening Equity and Inclusion in Technology Industries of Finland Through Data
Data and Insights

Technology Industries of Finland is the national advocacy association for technology companies, representing the country’s largest and most influential export sector. With over 300,000 people employed in the sector, the association plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of work, innovation, and sustainable growth.
In 2025, Technology Industries of Finland set out to strengthen inclusion, equity, and equality within the organization. To guide the next steps in its social sustainability work, the company wanted to identify both its main challenges and its strengths, and to actively involve all personnel in shaping future actions. To achieve this, we carried out a company-wide Equality and Non-Discrimination survey as well as an Inclusion keynote.

Raising Awareness and Building Shared Understanding through Inclusion Dialogue
The collaboration began with a keynote session for the entire staff, delivered at the organization’s annual kickoff event. The session provided updated insights into diversity, equity, and inclusion in the technology sector – highlighting recent knowledge and practical approaches relevant both for Technology Industries of Finland as an organization and for the member companies they represent.
This opening dialogue laid the foundation for deeper engagement and created momentum for upcoming steps that would involve the entire organization.
Survey-Driven Insight: Mapping the Current State of Inclusion, Equality and Non-Discrimination
In the spring, we designed and delivered a customized Equality & Non-Discrimination Survey for the organization. The aim was to gain a better understanding of employee perceptions regarding equity, inclusion, psychological safety, and equal opportunities within the organization.
We co-refined the survey content to align with the organization’s goals and received broad participation from staff. Following the analysis, we facilitated two separate sessions with both the leadership and the entire personnel to review key findings and discuss concrete action points for next steps.
This participatory approach helped ensure that the results were not only heard but also owned across the organization.
Next Phase: Inclusion Capacity-Building Across Organizational Levels
We are excited to continue our collaboration in the autumn by providing tailored training to different levels of the organization. This next phase is designed to build internal capacity, deepen understanding, and support long-term change through practical and strategic learning.
