Driving Sustainability Through Inclusion and Equity Data
Data-Driven Inclusion Development | Inclusion Survey

DNA is one of Finland’s leading telecommunications companies, driven by the endless possibilities of digitalization. They provide high-quality connectivity, devices, and digital equity and inclusion, ensuring both consumers and businesses can thrive in today’s digital world.
“We have for many years been building a humane and one-of-a-kind workplace culture, and we have succeeded in many ways. However, despite our regularly held employee surveys, we recognized the need to understand a little bit deeper how our employees perceive our culture. We wanted to understand experiences of inclusion and psychological safety at DNA, employee perceptions of equality from a professional development perspective, and how committed employees feel DNA and its leadership are to DEI work.”

Customized Survey Design and Delivery to Complement Existing Data
As a company that values every employee’s contribution and supports personal development, DNA wanted to involve the entire organization in the next steps of its social sustainability efforts with a focus on inclusion and equity through a customized Inclusion Survey.
Together, we refined the survey’s objective, focus, themes, and questions to complement DNA’s previous employee survey findings. Our customized inclusion survey was designed to give DNA deeper insight into patterns of employee experiences, highlighting both the strengths and enablers of inclusion and equity and areas for improvement, including barriers that may be hindering them.
Outcome: Data-Backed Insights Coupled with Actionable Next Steps
As an outcome, our analysis and report provided DNA with key insights into inclusion, equity, and diversity data as well as recommendations and clear, actionable next steps for advancing inclusion and equity as a part of their broader sustainability development.
“We really appreciated deidei’s professionalism and their ability to lead to the results of such surveys with data. The results were insightful.
In addition to new findings, there were many aspects that we had already recognized, but through intersectional analysis, we gained much more understanding of these as well. Our goal was to understand how our employees experience working at DNA, and with the results we received, we gained further insight into the areas we should focus on to create an even more equal and inclusive workplace.” Malmelin continues.
The Value of Working with a Third-Party for Inclusion Surveys
An in-depth survey doesn’t need to be complicated to yield valuable insights into a company’s current state. The key benefit of working with a third party like deidei is our ability to collect extensive diversity data. This enables us to uncover how different aspects of diversity can shape employees’ patterns of experiences of inclusion and equity – insights that are often inaccessible through internal efforts alone.
“We really enjoyed working with deidei and would recommend them for any organization that wishes to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at their workplace. Their practical touch alongside their ability to lead projects with data and research is phenomenal, while it has also been very fun and straightforward to work with them.” Malmelin sums up.
